Rather than copying a single model's exact figures (e.g. "65,000 lumens, 50kg-class, triple-wheel chassis"), specify the underlying requirement: minimum lumen output for the application, maximum deployment time by how many personnel, IP rating threshold, and power source requirements. This gets you comparable bids rather than bids that only match one product's marketing sheet.
Features unique to one manufacturer's design (a specific chassis type, a named accessory) narrow the field of eligible bidders unnecessarily unless that exact feature is genuinely required for the application. Specify the functional outcome (e.g. "stable on uneven terrain") rather than the specific mechanism, unless there's a real reason to require one particular design.
