"Generator-free" sounds like a compromise — less light, shorter runtime, a trade made for convenience. In practice, it changes what a site manager has to plan for far more than it changes what the crew can see.
A generator-powered light tower brings a supply chain with it: fuel deliveries, on-site storage, a refuelling schedule, and someone responsible for keeping it running.
